Once upon a time, I was fricking cute. Guess which one is me??? Posted by Hello

Longest two weeks ever..

Wow, I'm almost there, but there are two days left. It doesn't seem like anything has changed, though.

It really seemed like my boss was going to cry today as he tried to convince me to stay. I've worked with him for 6 years, and that's a really long time. Really long. I was a student employee most of that time, but worked at least 20 hours a week the whole time. Joe was there even longer than I, and Steve got sad when he left, too.

I like my boss and coworkers, but it seems like I should have left long ago. I don't have any wistful feelings about the evidence of my upcoming departure... my shifts are posted as "open" on the board, etc. I did have a little knot of concern as I gave up my parking contract. Maybe it's because my free reign night parking was such a relief, such a relaxing contrast to the stress of the job.

But, I won't need that anymore, right?

It's like I'm in limbo...

Yeah. I still go to that place... where circumstances have become so bizarre that I never would have imagined it... and I'm still going there until June 12. Then, lord knows what will happen. No health insurance, no swimming pool... no income. It's weird. But, even with the financial shock of it all, I'll be better off.

P.S. Anyone want to buy a guitar?

I am so happy, I'm doing a jig. My last day is June 12. I will be incredibly poor. I am incredibly poor. I don't even care. My movie isn't even done. I don't care. I've got nowhere to go. I don't care. I am liberated.

Ok, now I feel much better. Stressful week. Stressful month. I'll be so relieved once the movie is in the can!!!

A robin woke me up this morning. It kept flying at my window, for whatever reason. I thought someone was knocking. I could see the bird through the blinds, jumping at me with hopeful anticipation. It looked hopeful, anyway. It wouldn't stop.

After about 10 minutes, I walked outside to see what its deal was. I couldn't find anything that would possess a bird to fly at my window. Maybe it had found a friend in the window reflection.
So, I looked up the meaning of a robin. [Why not?]

According to Dream Swoon:

Robin: One of the most fortunate omens you could dream up; great happiness is sure to follow.

And, The Church of the Holy Grail:

ROBIN - denotes a rebirth of ideas or spirit. Denotes the coming of Spring, a new beginning, a new opportunity, or a new birth of self. It also relates to patience such as when he waits for the worm to emerge from the ground for his food.

So, either it was a good omen, or a really, really weird thing that happened. Though randomness is always the winner. I was chased by a blackird in my hometown of Raymond, MN:

I had a running route that went about two miles into the country. Just before the last turn back into town, a blackbird would fly out of the grassy thicket and hover above my head until I crossed the powerline 20 or 30 yards away. Then, it would watch me until I was out of sight. It was just protecting its nest, though. Animals are weird.
